Your Duties

Your most important duty as a VMF-124 aviator is to HAVE FUN.

Nothing in VMF-124 is mandatory. The core of the squadron experience is flying online. Show up and join in whenever you're able.

Flight duties

Flying online, duties include:

• Division leaders make sure their four-ship division contributes to squadron objectives
• Section leaders make sure their two-ship section supports their division
• Wingmen guard their section leader's tail

Squadron duties

As part of VMF-124, you may also participate in the squadron's chain of command. Duties include:

• S-1 Administration oversees day-to-day squadron activities
• S-2 Intelligence oversees information-gathering and data distribution
• S-3 Operations oversees training activities
• S-4 Logistics oversees mission-building activities
• S-6 Communications oversees Teamspeak functions
• Landing Signal Officer oversees carrier-qualification efforts
• Maintenance Officer oversees skin-building activities
• Chaplain oversees the squadron's spiritual health
